Station to make report. At 11.00 hrs on 20/2/46 I

visited Central Police Stati on and was shown money on a

table. I identified as money similar in denomination

to what was stolen from my hand-bag the following:

1 10 Patacas note and 2 5 Patacas notes and 49 50 Avos

notes (Exh.).

Kennedy Force at St. Joseph's College. At about 21.00 hrs.

on 19/2/46 I was patrolling in a jeep with A naval petty-

officer. We had been to ld that a car No.147 had been

stolen and told to keep a look-out for it. At 22.45 hrs.

on same day I was off duty and was walking along Des Voeux Rd. C. While standing outside 273 Des Voeux Rd. c. I saw

a car No.147 stopping in front of me and I saw two men

coming out. Cne walked about 30 feet from the other. I

saw them entering a Restaurant. The rear one came out.

I arrested him and said I was a Police Officer. I blew

my police whistle. About 3 minutes later two detectives

cane.

The 1st

and a few other police officers in uniform

deft. was the man I arrested. I never lost sight of him

after he got down from car until I arrested him. He did

not actually enter the Restaurant.
